Dark Fiber

Consolidated offers on a lease or IRU basis a variety of linear and ringed dark fiber assets comprised of single mode fiber with access via on-net buildings, zero man holes and splice points all along the routes. These fiber assets represent a unique opportunity for customers who are seeking to gain route diversity, incremental capacity, expansion or access.

 

Consolidated owns, maintains and operates over 200 route miles and over 27,000 fiber miles of dark fiber assets in the Dallas/Forth Worth Metroplex with over 20 on-net building access locations. The fibers are generally arranged in the following manner:

 

Dallas CBD (Central Business District)

This dark fiber facility is built with multiple ring configurations in 15 miles of underground conduit owned by TXU Corp. The fiber access 16 downtown buildings with diverse entrance facilities and passes additional buildings accessed via TXU conduit. 2323 Bryan, 1201 Main and 400 Akard are primary connections points for the fiber network.

 

 

Dallas Extended CBD

This file mile extension of the CBD links all downtown facilities to the Dallas Infomart and other carrier hotels.

 

 

Dallas East Metro Ring

This 90 mile ring encompassed North Dallas, the Richardson Telecom corridor, Plano, Allen, Las Colinas and the east side of DFW Airport. This route is predominantly OPGW (Optical Ground Wire) on TXU transmission towers.

 

 

Dallas – Fort Worth Ring

110 miles of OPGW linking the Dallas CBD with Arlington, downtown Fort Worth and the Alliance enter

 

Dallas-Waco, Waco CBD

This OPGW route on TXU Transmission towers connect the Dallas dark fiber network to the growing Waco Market and includes a downtown Waco CBD passing Baylor University as well as other carrier hotels in Waco.
