Consolidated Communications employees donate gift cards to Lufkin families
Lufkin, Texas – Consolidated Communications employees recently donated gift cards to two families effected by last December’s tornado.
The donation was organized by the company’s Spirit Team, which sponsors events for employees and fundraisers. To raise funds for the donation the team sold chances on a dinner and a move package and raised $300.
The American Red Cross identified two Lufkin families in need following the tornado and each received a gift card.
“We’re proud to make this donation to two area families. Many of us have friends or family members who were effected by the tornado,” said Penny Miller, Consolidated Communications employee and Lufkin Spirit Team vice president. “Our employees were very generous with their donations and eager to help.”
