New Litchfield/Hillsboro area phone book offers mobile application
MATTOON, Ill. – The 2010-2011 Official Phone Book of Consolidated Communications for the Litchfield/Hillsboro area is now available in print, online and in an easy-to-use mobile format, giving users to ability to search for business listings for their local area while they’re on the go.
The online and mobile directory can be searched by keywords and phrases in addition to the traditional yellow page headings, and both versions also provide maps, driving directions and a link to many advertiser Web sites.
The directory’s newest feature is available now at thephonebook.consolidated.com or consolidated.com.
The mobile application is another addition to the book’s handy features, such as the numerical cross reference guide that allows users to look up a phone number instead of the name. The directory also includes easy-to-read white and yellow page listings, and features several pages of Litchfield and Hillsboro community information, city maps, governmental listings and a community calendar.
Brad Barker, Consolidated Directory Services Manager, said Consolidated Communications is excited to offer the mobile application to its users. “The mobile access allows our users to access The Phone Book anywhere and at anytime,” he said. “With so many people using their cell phones to search online, we wanted to provide our customers with a way to find local information.”
In addition to the traditional directory that is delivered to area residents, The Phone Book from Consolidated is also available in a mini book format. The mini format is ideal for use in tight places such as vehicles or offices. Area residents can also get a mini book by visiting the Litchfield Communication Center at 301 N. Madison, Litchfield.
Area residents are encouraged to recycle their old phone books by dropping them off at the Litchfield Communication Center or the Montgomery County Recycling Center, 506 Corporate Drive, Hillsboro.
