MATTOON – Consolidated Communications’ Iverson A. Lumpkin Chapter of the Independent Telecommunications Pioneers of America recently donated $2,500 to local community organizations and charities.
Consolidated Communications employee and Pioneer Club President Tami Smith said the club’s main goal is to give back to the community where the employees of Consolidated Communications live and work.
“We organize many fundraisers throughout the year so the Pioneer Club can donate to these local charities and help them serve those in need,” said Smith. “We continue to be both proud and humbled by the generosity of our Pioneer Club members and the Consolidated employees and retirees. Without these folks, our dedication to helping those in need would not be possible.
The club hosted a reception on December 16 to meet the representatives and present the donations. The following organizations received donations from the club:
• Camp Care-A-Lot
• Camp New Hope
• Charleston Food Pantry
• LifeLinks - SASS
• Compassionate Friends of East Central Illinois
• Effingham Food Pantry – Catholic Charities
• Litchfield Food Pantry
• Mattoon Community Food Center
• Mattoon Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS)
