Why do I have a different password when I dial in with my phone and when I use the web portal?
The web portal is a different way of accessing your voicemail box. In the web portal you can control scheduling options, compose voice and text messages and even save an existing voicemail as a .wav file on your computer. Since you can access the web portal from the Internet, there's no long distance charge if you happen to be traveling and need to check your voicemail.

While some of the same features are available through the telephone interface, not all of them can be controlled in the same fashion.

I listened to my message-why is my light still on?
Consolidated's voicemail system will keep a message as new until the user saves it or deletes it. If you disconnected before the end of the message, or didn't choose to save or delete it, the message waiting tone or light may stay active.

The system will also alert you to any text messages you might receive. These messages are essentially email that you receive in your voicemail box. Listen to the announcement when you log in, the system will tell you if you have any new text messages. At this point, any text messages must be checked from the web portal.
