New Effingham area phone books being delivered

MATTOON – The 2008-2009 issue of The Phone Book from Consolidated Communications, featuring a cover montage of area high school athletes, is being delivered now to Effingham area residents.

The official Phone Book of Consolidated Communications is packed with handy features, including a numerical cross reference guide that allows users to look up a phone number instead of the name. The directory also includes easy-to-read white and yellow page listings, and features several pages of Effingham area community information, city maps, governmental listings and a community calendar.

Brad Barker, Consolidated Directory Services Manager, said he’s excited about the company’s new concept for the directory cover focusing on local student athletes and "Celebrating the spirit of Effingham and the surrounding area." "We feel our phone books are truly reflections of the communities we serve, so we focus on images that show pride and the spirit of community," Barker said. "We’re proud to deliver this new directory to our customers in the Effingham and surrounding areas."

The student athletes featured on the cover include: Shannon Berg and Justin Heiden of Altamont High School; Allyson Doty and Tyler McKay of Beecher City High School; Laura Thoele and Alex Wright of Dieterich High School; Katelyn Klosterman and Cody McCollum of Effingham High School; Hannah Esker and Anthony Hecht of St. Anthony High School; Lindsey Mills and Blake Wright of St. Elmo High School; and Heather Pruemer and Chris Gillespie of Teutopolis High School.

In addition to the traditional directory that is being delivered to area residents now, The Phone Book from Consolidated is also available in a mini book format. The mini format is ideal for use in tight places such as vehicles or offices. Area residents can also get a mini book by visiting the Effingham Communication Center at 1301 West Evergreen Avenue. The Greater Effingham Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Altamont Chamber of Commerce both have additional regular-sized books available as well.

The new directory is also available in an online version at the Consolidated Communications Web site www.consolidated.com. The online directory includes the same information as the printed directory, including white and yellow pages, and is easily searchable by name and business classification. The online version also provides maps and driving directions to many businesses by clicking on the address, and a link is also available to many advertisers’ Web sites.
