Consolidated Communications to open new center in midtown Mattoon

MATTOON - Consolidated Communications is opening a new Communication Center in midtown Mattoon on Monday, Sept. 8, located in a new building on the corner of Charleston Avenue and 14th Street.
The Mattoon Communication Center has been located at the Cross County Mall for several years. During the afternoon of Friday, Sept. 5, that center will close and the new center will open on Monday, Sept. 8, at 1321 Charleston Avenue. The center will be open from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday.

Dawn Frost, Communication Center manager, said she’s excited about the move and feels customers will like the convenient location of the new center. "We’re very excited to have our Communication Center in a more central location for our customers," said Frost. "It will be easier for people to stop by the center to have all their communications needs cared for in one place."

Four customer service representatives will be working at the new center to help customers and demonstrate the company’s Digital Video Services and Internet service. In addition, a demonstration area for Consolidated’s Digital Phone Service is also planned.
In addition to testing new products, area residents can drop by the center to pick up additional phone directories and recycle their old directories. A night deposit box is also located near the entrance for after-hours payments.

The company also has Communication Centers in Charleston, Effingham, Litchfield and Taylorville.
