Seven Receive Pioneer Club Scholarships
MATTOON – Three children and four grandchildren of Iverson A. Lumpkin Pioneer Club
members were awarded scholarships at a reception June 7 at the Consolidated Communications.
The Pioneer Club scholarship program provides scholarships to qualified applicants. To qualify,
the applicant must be a child or grandchild of a Pioneer Club member, have at least a 3.0 G.P.A. and be
enrolling in a two or four-year accredited college.
Since 1990, the Pioneer Club has awarded $68,500 through 108 scholarships.

, daughter of Kevin and Dollie Brown. Brown is a 2005 graduate of
Taylorville High School planning to attend the Illinois Art Institute of Chicago. There she will
major in media arts and animation. Her sponsor is her grandfather, Carl Brown, a
Consolidated retiree.

Cisna plans to attend Southern Illinois University – Carbondale. He will major in mechanical

grandfather, Bob Barnd is also a Consolidated retiree.

College persuing a degree in nursing. She is also a wife and mother. Duncan’s sponsor is her
mother, Celeste Webb, Operator Services supervisor.
