Consolidated Communications Awards Grant to Sigel St. Michael School for New Technology

October 15, 2013 - Consolidated Communications recently awarded a grant for $400 to Sigel’s St. Michael the Archangel School to purchase iPads and notebooks.

The grant is through Consolidated’s Earning for Learning (EFL) program and helped the school purchase iPads and laptop computers, said Nick Niemerg, St. Michael School principal

“The grant money along with other grants were used to help purchase a classroom set of iPads and HP notebooks to enhance technology in the classroom. Both are being used throughout the building by kindergarten through 8th grad students,” said Niemerg.

Sarah Greider of Consolidated Communications made donation and said she’s glad to see the EFL funds in use at our schools. “Our Earning for Learning grants are designed to support education in the communities we serve, and we’re pleased to award this grant to St. Michael School to add more tools in the classroom,” Greider said.

The EFL program has donated more than $3.2 million to local schools to use for teacher grants, computer and software purchase and other items and projects not included in typical school budgets. Participating schools are invited to submit a grant application to request funds for a specific financial need. Grants are approved based on the description of need and funds available at the time of the request.
