Employee-funded foundation supports local nonprofits serving critical needs

Roseville, Calif. Nov. 7, 2019 – The California chapter of the Consolidated Communications Foundation is now accepting funding requests for 2020 from nonprofit organizations serving in the Sacramento and Roseville area.

The Consolidated Communications Foundation is funded by employee contributions and a gift from the company. The Foundation board consists of Consolidated Communications employees and operates with no administration costs. This model allows 100 percent of donated funds to go directly to the nonprofit organizations providing service in the community.

The foundation prioritizes funding small nonprofit organizations directly addressing hunger and homelessness, children’s and families’ critical needs, and physical and mental health in the Roseville and Sacramento area. Funding requests are accepted on an annual basis, from November 1 through January 15, 2020.

“Our employees’ passions drive our foundation’s focus,” said Joseph Glenn, senior director for small and medium business sales and California foundation president at Consolidated Communications. “Driven by our company values, our employees generously give to organizations addressing critical needs in our community. As a board, it’s our responsibility and privilege to ensure our donors’ dollars go where they will make the most impact.”

Since 1992, the Consolidated Communications Foundation has given $5.5 million to nonprofits serving the local community. In California, the foundation focuses on organizations addressing hunger and homelessness, children and families, and physical and mental health.

Consolidated Communications Foundation donations are awarded on an annual basis through a funding application process, open from Nov. 1 to Jan. 15. More information about the Foundation, including detail on funding priorities, is available at consolidated.com/community.
