Broadband Communities Magazine hosting interactive webinar on July 8

MATTOON, Ill. – July 7, 2020Consolidated Communications’ (NASDAQ: CNSL) senior vice president of consumer product, Rob Koester, will be sharing how the Company moved quickly to support remote learning during the coronavirus pandemic.

Internet access continues to be a challenge for many families, creating the so-called “homework gap” which effects about 14 percent of families in the United States. Broadband Communities Magazine is bringing together several broadband providers to discuss how they took swift action to ensure low-income students were not left behind in the wake of schools closures.

Consolidated Communications was instrumental in promoting services for low-income families, reaching out to local schools and school districts to ensure students were able to access services.

“As the coronavirus continues to impact the communities we serve, supporting remote learning continues to be top of mind for Consolidated Communications,” said Koester. “I’m happy to share how Consolidated was able to respond to the needs of families in our service areas, and to learn how other providers are addressing the same challenges. The more we can share information, the better prepared we will be for this ongoing global health crisis.”

This webinar is the second in a two-part series organized and hosted by Broadband Communities. This upcoming session focuses on providers in rural areas, who face specific challenges in expanding broadband access.
