Fidium Fiber Internet is Bringing Big City Speeds and New High-Speed Networks to Rural New Hampshire Towns

Network builds to more than 8,500 homes completed early; includes whole home WiFi and management app with no contracts or data caps

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Jan. 4, 2022 — The new year is bringing better internet connectivity to a growing number of households across the Granite State. Residents in more than 8,500 homes in Fitzwilliam, Goshen, Jaffrey, Marlborough and Troy can now order internet service from FidiumSM Fiber, a new customer-centered, gigabit fiber broadband experience from Consolidated Communications (NASDAQ: CNSL).

In the spring of 2021, residents voted to approve partnerships with Consolidated to build high-speed, fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) networks to homes and businesses with no associated property tax increases. The builds were slated for completion in March 2022; however, Consolidated was able to finish construction of the networks months ahead of schedule.

With the company’s launch of Fidium in November, homes in these towns can now get an even better online experience than originally imagined. Fidium offers gigabit speeds without data caps, contracts or required bundles. The Fidium experience also includes whole-home WiFi, as well as easy, hassle-free installation with text updates, experienced technical support, and compassionate, knowledgeable customer service teams.

To ensure Fidium customers get the best online experience, the Attune WiFi whole-home management app provides network visibility, time-of-day access control, age-appropriate content settings, speed tests and more.

“We are delivering some of the fastest internet speeds in the country right here in New Hampshire,” said Erik Garr, president of consumer and small business for Consolidated Communications. “Our agreements with the towns ensured access to a high-speed internet network for its residents, but it’s icing on the cake to give them even more with our Fidium gigabit service.”

Fidium Fiber offers residents 1-Gig internet service at a straightforward price that includes installation and equipment.

Early Fidium customers are pleased with the product and their service experience, which also offers an entirely digital experience from installation through service with self-service options available on the customer portal.

“Fidium is a win all the way around for our town, and residents are excited for the opportunity to now have state-of-the-art technology and high-speed fiber internet delivered to their home or business,” said Doug Batchelder, Troy Broadband Committee member. “For everyone working, learning or playing from within our homes, even at the same time, we no longer have to worry about limited bandwidth or poor connectivity.”

Consolidated has public private partnership network builds in progress with 10 additional towns across Northern New England. Along with Consolidated’s ongoing fiber expansion, these projects will bring its Fidium service with gigabit speeds and exceptional service to 1 million locations throughout New Hampshire and Northern New England by 2025.
