Consolidated Communications Community Fund Now Accepting Grant Requests for Southern Minnesota

Local Community Fund also takes on new name

November 3, 2015 — The Consolidated Communications Community Fund is now accepting grant requests for the 2016 fiscal year. The Community Fund recently changed its name from the Enventis Community Fund to the Consolidated Communications Community Fund of the Mankato Area Foundation. The name change follows the rebranding of Enventis to Consolidated Communications earlier this year and the merger between Enventis Corporation and Consolidated Communications which closed last year.

The Consolidated Communications Community Fund is a donor-advised fund, administered through the Mankato Area Foundation. An advisory board comprised of local Consolidated Communications employees directs grants and gifts from the Fund.

The Community Fund will continue to provide grants to non-profit organizations in the company’s southern Minnesota service area. Eligible communities include: Mankato, North Mankato, Amboy, Cambria, Eagle Lake, Ellendale, Faribault, Garden City, Good Thunder, Janesville, Lake Crystal, Madison Lake, Mapleton, New Richland, Nicollet, Pemberton, St. Clair, St. Peter, Vernon Center and Waseca.

The Consolidated Communications Community Fund is currently accepting grant requests through a new online application. The grant request deadline is December 1.  The Community Fund will focus on programs supporting vital, basic needs in the community and education with an emphasis on K-12 and innovative learning through technology.  Non-profit organizations within or benefitting the company’s southern Minnesota service area are eligible to apply.  Complete grant guidelines are available at www.consolidated.com/communityfund.

In 2015, the Consolidated Communications Community Fund awarded 23 grants totaling $150,000.
