Consolidated Communications' Community Fund Awards $150,000 in Grants

Grants awarded to 24 non-profit organizations in the Greater Mankato area                                                                                                              

MANKATO, Minn. – March 10, 2022 – The Consolidated Communications Community Fund of the Mankato Area Foundation is pleased to award $150,000 in grants to 24 local non-profit organizations across the Greater Mankato area. Consolidated’s Community Fund focuses its support on local programs that meet critical community needs, such as hunger and homelessness, along with initiatives that provide opportunities for innovative education and learning.

Consolidated’s 2022 Grants are being awarded to the following organizations:

  • Minnesota State University, Mankato – scholarships; $15,000
  • Committee Against Domestic Abuse – direct assistance program; $10,000
  • ECHO Food Shelf – dairy products for children; $10,000
  • Feeding Our Communities Partners – BackPack and Power Pack Food Programs; $10,000
  • Junior Achievement of Greater Mankato Area – Entrepreneurial JA Company Program; $10,000
  • Partners for Affordable Housing – housing stability for the homeless; $10,000
  • South Central College – scholarships; $10,000
  • Educare Foundation – Ed Waltman Mini-Grants; $7,500
  • Lutheran Social Services – freezer for senior meal site; $5,500
  • Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota – STEM programming; $5,000
  • Footnotes Trauma Foundation – care for veterans and abuse victims; $5,000
  • Jonathan Zierdt Cancer Fund – Caring Box Program; $5,000
  • Life-Work Planning Center – Women in Transition Program; $5,000
  • Mankato Youth Place, “MY Place” – First Hour Program; $5,000
  • Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans – programs for homeless Veterans; $5,000
  • Minnesota Autism Center – playground improvements at North Mankato facility; $5,000
  • MRCI – transportation for community integration; $5,000
  • VINE – technology upgrade project; $5,000
  • YWCA – Smart, Strong and Bold Youth Program; $5,000
  • Connections Ministry – assistance for transition to year-round homeless shelter; $4,000
  • Lake Crystal Recreation Center – youth to senior program; $3,000
  • Ruth’s House of Hope– Emergency Transitional Shelter Program; $3,000
  • Janesville Matters – History Walk; $1,000
  • South Sudan READ – one-on-one tutoring pilot program; $1,000

Consolidated’s Community Fund grants are awarded on an annual basis through a grant application process, administered by the Mankato Area Foundation.
