The company’s educational grant program providing support for school’s robotics program; Grant to support expansion of STEM and project-based-learning program
North Mankato, Minn. – Sept. 22, 2023 – Dakota Meadows Middle School (DMMS) was recently awarded a $5,000 grant for its robotics program from Consolidated Communication’s Consolidated Connects Educational Grant Program. The program directs support to K-12 schools within the company’s service area in support of innovative, technology-focused learning programs that advance creative student learning, develop 21st century skills and promote critical thinking.
Grant funding will support the Vex Robotics teams at DMMS, including the ability to provide students with better equipment and for the expansion from five to six middle schools teams.
“VEX Robotics students at DMMS constantly work on building the best robot that they can to solve unique problems and win the competition. Their ability to look at problems and work as a team to solve them builds confidence and life-long skills that they will use when they enter the workforce in the future. This grant will help these students have access to the materials they need to be successful this year and for years to come. We are grateful to receive this grant and look forward to putting it to good use," said Kristen Olinger, DMMS VEX Robotics Coach.
