Consolidated Communications Foundation Awards $34,000 in Grants in the Kansas City Area

Sixty-eight local non-profits benefit from employee generosity

April 12, 2018 –The Consolidated Communications Foundation is pleased to announce it provided over $34,000 in grants, sponsorships and charitable gifts to 68 non-profit organizations in the greater Kansans City area.

These contributions were made possible by the generosity of Consolidated Communications employees who give to the Consolidated Communications Foundation in support of causes and agencies they deeply care about. Doubling the impact of employee contributions, Consolidated Communications matched employee donations.

“Our employees are deeply engaged in the local community and Consolidated Communications’ company values mirror that commitment,” said Melissa Stringer, network engineer and vice chair of the Consolidated Communications Foundation. “I am impressed by the generosity of our employees, year after year, and I’m grateful for the company’s support of non-profit organizations in the Kansas City area.”

Since its inception in 1992, the Consolidated Communications Foundation has given more than $5 million to non-profit organizations. The Foundation’s giving focuses on addressing vital community needs, in keeping with employees’ philanthropic passions.

In 2017, the Consolidated Communications Kansas Foundation provided:

  • $8,000 for children and family services, including Hope House, SAFEHOME of Johnson County, and Sunflower House.
  • $9,000 for cultural and animal-focused programs, including: Wayside Waifs, Great Plains SPCA and Friends of the Zoo.
  • $7,500 for physical and mental health services, including: Children’s Mercy Kansas City, Gift of Life (KC), and Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care.
