Consolidated has set up free wireless charging stations for residents to use at its Perry Central Office, located at 112 W Ellis St., Perry, FL. In addition, Consolidated is providing free wireless Internet service to the Perry Shrine Club to support them in their work to provide meals to local residents impacted by the storm.

Consolidated Communications Activates Emergency Operations Center in Response to Hurricane Idalia

Consolidated Communications has activated its Emergency Operations Center in response to Hurricane Idalia.  Our highest priority is ensuring the safety of our local teams as they work to maintain and restore services.

At this time, some Consolidated Communications' services in the Florida communities of Alligator Point, Apalachicola, Dekle Beach, Eastpoint, Eridu, Keaton Beach, Perry, Steinhatchee, Shady Grove and Salem have been impacted by Hurricane Idalia. Our crews have made significant progress restoring service to customers impacted by the storm and are actively working to make repairs, with sites currently running on back up power. Crews will be working around the clock, making repairs as areas are cleared by local authorities.

In preparing for this event, our actions included:

  •  Initiating severe weather work schedules and 24-hour repair service;
  • Equipping fleet vehicles with extra fuel, fluids and lighting;
  • Double-checking all safety equipment, back-up supplies, generators and materials used by field technicians;
  • Taking inventory of supplies needed for network restoration in the event of severe weather; and
  • Placing emergency network supplies throughout company facilities.
