Champaign Telephone Company (CTC) to Become Consolidated Communications

Growing communications provider makes fiber investments in Champaign-Urbana area

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - January 16, 2017Consolidated Communications (NASDAQ: CNSL) announced effective today Champaign Telephone Company (CTC) will take on the Consolidated Communications brand.

“Consolidated Communications is eager to continue its expansion in the Champaign-Urbana area and is now rebranding CTC as Consolidated Communications, supported by an expanded regional team,” said Doug Abolt, director of Commercial Services for Consolidated Communications. “We remain committed to the highest quality of service and are excited to introduce an expanded business product offerings in the Champaign-Urbana market.”

The Mattoon, Ill.-based provider is one of the largest independent communications providers in the United States and currently has operations in 11 states. Consolidated Communications completed the purchase of CTC on July 1, 2016 and immediately invested and expanded fiber services to businesses in the Woodfield Drive area of nearby Savoy, Ill.

“We’ve already extended our fiber reach within the Champaign-Urbana area and are uniquely positioned to provide diverse connectivity and services with superior reliability and redundancy,” added Abolt. “Consolidated’s investment and expansion of the fiber network in the area provides customers increased bandwidth at the most competitive prices.”
